Lyon County Comptroller Recognized as Finalist for 26th Annual Cashman Good Government Award
Yerington, Nevada – Lyon County Comptroller Josh Foli was recognized as one of five finalists for the 26th Annual Cashman Good Government Award during the Nevada Taxpayers Association’s Annual Luncheon and Membership Meeting on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Since 1997, the Cashman Good Government Award has honored government entities and individuals who put workplace experience together with ingenuity to make citizen services work better and more efficiently at lower cost. Finalists for the Cashman Good Government Award are recognized in categories based on population size and organization type.
Comptroller Foli was selected as the finalist in the category of “County/School Districts under 400,000” for his vast knowledge, skills, and unwavering dedication to being a good steward of taxpayer dollars. Mr. Foli goes above and beyond to ensure each department within the County is operating in a fiscally responsible manner and has led Lyon County to receive the Government Finance Officer Association’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting sixteen years in a row. He also serves as the Chair of the Nevada Public Agency Insurance Pool, Fiscal Officer of Public Compensation Mutual, and Chair of Nevada Risk Pooling, Inc.
Lyon County officials congratulate Mr. Foli on the well-deserved recognition. County Manager Andrew Haskin added, “Over the years that I have worked with Mr. Foli, he has demonstrated a willingness to help where he can and provide staff with support to achieve high level results. He has dedicated his career to ensuring the citizen’s tax dollars are spent wisely and openly.”
