Head Coach Trinity Erikson lead his Yerington Lions Junior Varsity football squad to two consecutive wins. The JV took their opponents to the woodshed both games, not just winning but spanking (the pants off) them! The Lions shutout North Lake Tahoe Lakers in their home opener on September 8, 2023 with a score of 44-0. The following week they racked up a score of 48-14 against the Coral Academy of Science (Reno) at Wooster Hight school on September 16, 2023. The Junior Varsity now hold a record of 2-0 (conference) and 2-1 (overall)
The Lions Varsity squad, led by Brad Pope, head coach, took the North Tahoe Lakers to the house with a 47-0 win in their home opening game. The following week they were no match for the Falcons of Coral Academy of Science (Reno) and lost their away game at Wooster High School with a score of 0-20. The varsity squad is now 1-1 in conference and 1-2 overall.
This week’s Home Coming activities are slated to begin Monday, September 18th and cumulate on Friday, September 22, 2023 with the Lions (JV and Varsity) playing the Pershing County (Lovelock) Mustangs at 4:30pm and 7:00pm consecutively. The varsity Mustangs are 0-3 on the season.
