Yerington NV – September 18, 2026

Article & photos from the volunteers of Yerington NV Main Street Committee:

If you’ve driven into Yerington recently, you may have noticed an amazing new display behind the electronic sign at the corner of Goldfield Avenue & Main Street.

The volunteers of the Yerington NV Main Street Committee recently installed three new flagpoles, proudly displaying the flags of the United States, the State of Nevada, and the City of Yerington.

The poles with their flags blowing gently in the breeze, add another welcoming touch and sense of hometown pride to the entrance of our community.

The flagpole project is yet another improvement that highlights Yerington’s identity and creates a welcoming first impression for both residents and visitors.

Monday, September 14, 2026: WHAT A NIGHT IN YERINGTON!

Last night we officially dedicated our beautiful new 250th Celebration Mural at Yerington City Hall, and WOW Yerington showed up! We had quite the crowd come out to celebrate this incredible new piece of public art.

A huge thank you to the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts for providing the funding that made this beautiful work of art possible. We are so grateful for the investment in our community and the arts.

A very special thank you to Stephanie Pellegrini LaBranch and Debbie Draper Douglas for their creativity, hard work, and inspiration in bringing this mural to life. What started as an idea is now something our community will enjoy for years to come.

And thank you to Saleen Felan for making the evening even more special with a beautiful performance of the National Anthem.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us! Seeing so many people gathered together, looking at the mural, finding all of its details, and celebrating Yerington was exactly what this project was all about.

Another project in the books…although knowing Main Street, we probably won’t sit still for very long.

Yerington Proud!

September 13, 2026: GOLDFIELD GOT SOME LOVE TODAY!

Goldfield Avenue received some much-needed TLC today, and once again our volunteers proved that when Yerington shows up, we get things done!

A HUGE thank you to Melanie Young-Pinkerton, Nick Beaton, Chris Beaton, Darci Beaton, Debbie Douglas, Steve Douglas, Scott Draper, Joan Sciarani, Alma Ceniceros with Cheek Construction, Bonnie Bobrick, Anna Draper, Paul Shapiro, Carrie Gilmore, Billie Bartels, and Pete Ivcas for rolling up their sleeves and getting to work.

There was sweeping, picking up, hauling, trimming…and probably a little wondering, “How did THAT get here?”

Together, this crew contributed an amazing 38.59 volunteer hours, representing a community value of $1,594.23! That time also helps provide valuable grant match toward the upcoming Goldfield Avenue Sidewalk Improvement Project.

Many hands really do make light work and Goldfield is looking a whole lot better because of these hands!

Thank you to everyone who gave up part of their Sunday to give one of Yerington’s entrances some much-needed love.

Yerington Proud!
