Yerington Lions defeat the Meadows Mustangs 35-26 for the 2021 Class 2A State Football Title.
The game began at 9am this morning, Thursday November 18th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. This was an edge-of-your-seat game with several highlights: Tucker Rowe scored 3 rushing touchdowns, Felix Garcia scored a 3 yard rushing touchdown, and Thomas Triplett finished the scoring with another 3 yard rushing touchdown. Alexis Martinez scored 1 PAT. (point after touchdown) and Erick Rodriguez rushed for a 2 point conversion.
With 2 minutes to go in the game, the score was Yerington 28, Meadows 26 when Triplett padded the lead with a rushing touchdown, 1 minute to go.
The Lions finished a perfect season at 9-0.
