Rotary Club of Yerington is proud to introduce you to Rotarian Carrie Gilmore (Baker)!

Name: Carrie Gilmore (Baker)
Profession: Physical Therapist

My Rotary Moment:
Growing up in Yerington, I was fortunate to be surrounded by people who supported and encouraged me along the way. Many of those same people have since become my patients, friends and fellow Rotarians—and it’s a pretty special thing to be able to give back to the community that helped shape who I am. Yerington was, is and always will be home.

Why I Rotary:
I joined Rotary in 2012 as a newer business owner in my hometown of Yerington. This community supported me growing up and continued to support me when I opened my business, and I’ve always believed that when a community supports you, you have a responsibility to give back.

To me, Rotary is about having pride in the place where you live and work, rolling up your sleeves, and doing your part to make it stronger. Our local businesses depend on our community to keep our doors open, but I think that relationship goes both ways—we have a responsibility to show up for our community, too. Rotary has given me a way to do that alongside people who care about Yerington as much as I do.

Along the way, Rotary has also given me lifelong friendships and connections I never would have made otherwise. And as someone who loves to travel, I’ve been reminded that what we do here in our small town is part of something much bigger. There are Rotarians all over the world rolling up their sleeves and doing their part for the communities they call home. I’m proud to be one of them.
