 CLUB NEWSLETTER May 2026  Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley is excited to announce that registration and membership renewals for the 2026-2027 membership year will officially open May 25 with free registration the week of May 25-29! Club membership provides year-round access to supportive mentors, enriching programs, and a positive environment that helps young people in Lyon and Mineral counties reach their potential in school and in life. With summer right around the corner, now is the perfect time to register or renew! We’re gearing up for a season full of fun, friendships, and hands-on activities that keep kids active, engaged, and connected. Too often, youth spend their afternoons, even more so in the summer, stuck on devices or without structured, supervised activities. Summer is one of the most impactful times of year at the Club, offering a safe place for kids to learn, play, and grow while school is out and routines shift. Enjoy a Family Night BBQ with the Club!  Get ready for an exciting summer with us at our Backyard BBQ Family Night, an evening all about good food, fun, and spending time together! It’s the perfect chance to connect, laugh, and make some great memories with your Club community. Join us in Hawthorne on May 28 at 5 p.m. and in Yerington, Dayton, and Silver Springs on May 29 at 5 p.m.Bring the whole family and come ready for a great night! | We’re partnering with Silver Stage schools to bring a BRAND NEW youth basketball league to Silver Springs this fall! This exciting new program will give local youth the chance to learn the game, build skills, stay active, and compete right here in their own community. Early registration is now open on our Parent Portal, and spots are expected to fill quickly. Participants must have an active Club membership to register.  Registration and renewal for our Yerington and Dayton early learning centers and preschool programs opens May 25! Join us at our open houses to renew, check on waiting list status, and learn more about our new program in the Dayton community!  Eehovee is a shining example of what it means to be kind, responsible, and hardworking. She brings such a positive attitude to the Club every day and is always ready to help others. Whether she’s on the basketball court or the softball field, she gives 100% effort and shows amazing teamwork. Eehovee consistently demonstrates respect, responsibility, leadership and kindness and truly represents the heart of our club community. We are so proud of you, Eehovee! Keep shining and leading the way, you are going to do amazing things!  Rural Outreach Clinics aim to provide full-service care to rural communities on a regular basis and is excited to announce an upcoming rural outreach clinic in Yerington. Their team will be providing FREE hypertension and diabetes screenings, flu vaccines, and routine examinations through the UNR School of Medicine. The clinic will take place on Sunday, May 3, 2026 from 9 am to 1 pm at South Lyon Medical Center.  You’ve probably already heard the exciting news but if you missed it, Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley recently shared plans for a brand-new youth campus in Silver Springs! After more than 17 years of operating within shared school spaces, the Club is working to build a dedicated facility that includes both a full-service clubhouse for K-12 youth and an early learning center for infants and preschoolers. This expanded campus will provide age-specific spaces, modern technology, and enhanced programming opportunities in a safe, supportive environment tailored to the needs of the community. |
