Lyon County Master Plan Update

The Board of Commissioners was slated to take action on adopting the 2020 Master Plan Update at their August 5, 2021 meeting. Members of the Board requested a joint workshop with the Planning Commission to ensure that all understood the changes from the 2010 Comprehensive Master Plan.

The Master Plan Update process began in 2019 but was slowed down in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. Community Development staff conducted 4 public Town Hall meetings, 4 virtual Town Hall Meetings, 7 public hearings with the Planning Commission, and conducted a 13-month citizen survey on the contents of the Master Plan Update.

Lyon County will announce the date of a joint Planning Commission and County Commission Workshop on the Master Plan next week.
