“Our Loving Mother, Laverna Evon Marwin Peacefully Passed Away”

It is with great sorrow we announce that our loving Mother, Laverna Evon Marwin peacefully passed away in the early morning of July 2, 2021 at the South Lyon Medical Center, Long Term Care, Yerington.  She was 83.

She was born on June 24, 1938 in Los Angeles, California the daughter of Charles and Mildred Disoway.

Laverna has lived in Yerington for over 40 years.  While growing up she visited her grandparents in Bishop, California where she met her husband, Ronald Marwin.  They were married just days shy of 60 years.

Laverna retired from the State of Nevada and loved her job at the Legislature where she served over 10 sessions.  She loved cooking and catering for special events and mostly sending loved ones and friends home with special care packages.  She loved to shop and also to play keno.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Marwin, Jr (Paula) of Fernley; her daughters, Margaret Vargas (Sergio) of Yerington, Marilyn McCurry (Brett) of Yerington and Mildred Friedman (David) of Thousand Oaks, Ca; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; her half sister, Mary and half brother, William Disoway and numerous nieces and nephews, and unofficially adapted many as her own over the years.  Laverna will be greatly missed.

The family will have a private burial at a later date at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley where she will laid to rest along side her life long love, Ronald.
