Lyon County School District is proud to celebrate Kathy Bomba Edgerton, who has been named Junior Achievement of Nevada’s Principal of the Year!
Kathy is being recognized for her incredible dedication to Lyon County students and her commitment to creating opportunities that prepare them for success in school, the workforce and beyond.
She will be honored at Junior Achievement of Nevada’s Swimming with the Big Fish Luncheon on September 29 at the Grand Sierra Resort — and it will be an extra special day for Lyon County!
Students from Yerington Intermediate School will also compete in the Swimming with the Big Fish competition, where they’ll showcase their creativity, teamwork and entrepreneurial thinking in front of local business and community leaders.
Congratulations, Kathy, on this well-deserved recognition!
Junior Achievement of Nevada is a unified statewide non-profit organization dedicated to empowering K-12 students with the financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship skills needed to achieve economic success.
Yerington City Manager Jerry Bryant was honored as Junior Achievement’s 2025 Community Champion.
