Ben Wyatt Receives the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Life Saving Award

Dayton NV – August 25, 2026

Last night, Sheriff Pope had the honor of presenting Ben Wyatt with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Life Saving Award in recognition of his actions.

On July 26, 2026, at approximately 2342 hours, during a medical emergency, Ben Wyatt assisted Kyle Day (also awarded the Life Saving Medal) with stabilizing and performing CPR on an individual having a medical emergency. Ben gave rescue breaths to the patient and assisted with CPR until the first Deputy (Deputy Beck, also awarded the Life Saving Medal) arrived and took over.

According to the family of the patient, doctors said that he should have some minimal brain damage when they reviewed the reports and believe it was because of the quick action of Kyle and Ben that prevented serious long-term injury.
