Yerington NV – July 11, 2026
Yerington’s Brooke and Megan Allison are preparing to represent Nevada at the National High School Finals Rodeo after an outstanding 2025–2026 rodeo season.
The sisters competed in 14 regular-season rodeos from August through May, with the season culminating at the Nevada High School Rodeo State Finals in Winnemucca. Throughout the year, Brooke and Megan consistently battled for the top spots in the goat tying standings, frequently trading first and second place while remaining each other’s biggest supporters. Their friendly sibling rivalry made for an exciting season and showcased the sportsmanship that defines both competitors.

Brooke capped off the season by earning the title of 2026 Nevada State Champion Goat Tier, while Megan finished an impressive fourth overall in her first season competing at the high school level as a freshman.

Both sisters qualified for the National High School Finals Rodeo, where they will compete as members of Team Nevada in Lincoln, Nebraska, from July 19–25.
Brooke will be a senior at Yerington High School this fall. In addition to rodeo, she competes in volleyball, serves as captain of the YHS Dance Team, is Vice President of the Nevada High School Rodeo Association, and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Megan, who completed her freshman year, balances rodeo with volleyball and basketball and is also a member of the Yerington High School Dance Team. Her strong fourth-place finish at the state level reflects a promising future in high school rodeo.

The journey to Lincoln will take the Allison family approximately three days by road. As they prepare for one of the biggest competitions of the year, the sisters have been training diligently despite facing a few challenges with their horses.

True to the spirit of rodeo, they’ve simply “cowgirled up” and are looking forward to competing against the nation’s best.
The Pizen Switch Times wishes Brooke and Megan the very best as they represent Yerington, Lyon County, and the State of Nevada on the national stage.
