Dayton NV – April 13, 2026
The many people who drive on Highway 50 through Dayton, Nevada, may notice there is a new stoplight in town!
Lyon County Commissioner Tammy Hendrix has been working diligently with Nevada Department of Transportation NDOT for the past several years to make the Highway 50 Corridor safer for drivers.
The final activation of the stoplight at Traditions Parkway/Segale Way & Highway 50 is a milestone for residents of Dayton and those drivers commuting through: the first of many long-term measures aimed at providing safer roads & highways.
The intersections of Riverboat/Cardelli & Hwy 50 and Six-Mile Canyon/ Fort Churchill Rd & Hwy 50 have been the scenes of several fatal/serious automobile collisions, 2 in the last week. Those 2 intersections are next in line for traffic signals this year.
