**APPREHENDED 12/19 @ 2PM**LCSO Announces Manhunt for Fernley Stabbing Suspect Adam Miller

Update:  Lyon County Sheriff Brad Pope announced that Adam Miller was apprehended on Thursday, December 19th just before 2 p.m. He was found in an abandoned barn in a neighborhood near his home off of Farm District Road. At a press conference held one hour before Miller was apprehended, Sheriff Pope said Miller’s adoptive father died after being stabbed, and Miller’s mother, critically injured, is expected to survive.

After being medically checked, Adam Miller was booked into the Lyon County Jail.

At 9:59 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Lyon County Dispatch received a 911 call from Fernley requesting an ambulance for a,  “72 year-old female, conscious and breathing, bleeding from the neck, r.p. (reporting party) disconnected. No further information.”

A Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputy in Fernley arrived on scene and secured the home to allow medical personnel access to provide care for 2 patients whose conditions were critical.

The suspect, Adam Miller, 19 years of age, is reported to have fled his home on Farm District Road in Fernley, wearing a black short-sleeved shirt & red sweatpants, no shoes.

This call prompted a heavy law enforcement and medical response. Nevada Highway Patrol and Churchill County Sheriff’s Office are assisting Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and its SWAT Team.

Local schools have been put on lock-down for student safety.

Lyon County Sheriff’s Office announced the following:

“Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate stabbing suspect Adam Miller.

Suspect was last seen wearing red sweatpants. If you see the suspect he is considered armed and dangerous please call 911 immediately.”

 

The 1st photo from LCSO is “an updated photo of the suspect fleeing the scene wearing red pants and black shirt.”

 

At 3:52 p.m. LCSO wrote: “Attention Fernley Autumn Winds Area: Residents in the area of Green River Lane to Rouge River Road be advised a helicopter will be landing in the area. Please avoid the area and stay back.”
