Lyon County Sheriff’s Office – Nevada: Message of the Week 12/29/2023
I’m writing this message as I return from our vacation(not while driving), so please excuse errors.
Anyone who scrolls over the weekly jail bookings knows, that domestic violence arrests are increasing. This is the time of season where domestic violence incidents increase, and can become more violent.
If you are experiencing domestic violence please, do not hesitate to report it. I am including phone numbers of domestic violence advocates for those who have or are experiencing domestic violence. They are a great resource, and can help you get out of a cycle of abuse!
Domestic Violence Intervention 24 hour crisis line – 775-344-8238.
National Domestic Violence Hotline – 1-800-799-SAFE (7233).
Community Chest 24 Hour Hotline – 775-230-2979.
New Years is almost upon us as well. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office will be increasing staffing on New Years Eve, with a focus on DUI drivers. If you drink, please utilize a designated driver.
2024 promises to be an exciting year, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office will be releasing our yearly report shortly into the New Year!
