Weed Heights, Nevada on Sunday, October 1st, 2023
It was cool and drizzling rain at noon today when over 40 ladies gathered in the Dance Studio at Weed Heights for lunch, a pink drink, desert and BUNCO; 3 rounds of 6 games of BUNCO in all!
Volunteers, Sponsors and Board Members of Through a Child’s Eyes provided swag bags for all participants, raffle prizes, door prizes and game prizes.
Ladies from the Carson Tahoe Cancer Resource Center arrived to play BUNCO as well. “The Carson Tahoe Cancer Resource Center provides free services to people affected by cancer no matter where they are seeking treatment…The Cancer Resource Center empowers cancer patients, family members, friends and caregivers with educational resources, research tools, financial guidance and peer groups. Most of the Cancer Resource Center staff and volunteers are cancer survivors who can not only provide information and insight, but also say to patients, ‘I know how you feel.’ This is a powerful statement to those facing a cancer diagnosis.”
The Resource Center has been instrumental in providing support to many of our Mason and Smith Valley residents who have benefitted from the Center’s helpful kindness while providing guidance through an often harrowing cancer recovery.
