On Wednesday, September 20th, 2023 Smith Valley Resident Timothy Montgomery wrote: “Today there are four SEAT (Single Engine Air Tanker) planes dropping Phos-Chek as well as the helicopter pulling water from Topaz (I think). There has been ground crews up there delivered by helicopter. You can hear chain saws from time to time.”
