Reno Aiazzi ~ Remembered for His Kindness, Work Ethic, Generosity, and His Commitment to Family

Reno (Gus) George Aiazzi – February 24, 1932 – November 8, 2021

Reno was born to Emilio and Venila Aiazzi at the family home in Yerington, Nevada on February 24, 1932.  Reno was raised in Mason Valley on Aiazzi Ranch just outside of Yerington.  Reno was the youngest of 10 children.  Upon graduation from Yerington High School, he joined the US Army and where he was a mechanic for 3 years.  After being honorably discharged from the military, Reno moved back to Yerington to work on the Family Ranch.  In 1965, Reno married Vonnie Alford.  They had four children together, James Aiazzi, Julia Stanton, Connie Fortier, and Faye Fleury.

Reno lived and worked on the Ranch on Aiazzi Lane until 2003, running the custom meat business, raising cattle, and taking care of his alfalfa crops with the help of his son, Jim.  Later, Reno retired from ranching so that he could slow down, have a garden, and enjoy his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  He spent time tinkering in his shop, since he could fix anything, and also spent time working on and restoring the first car he ever bought, a 1925 Ford Model T.

Reno passed away on November 8, 2021, in Yerington, Nevada.  Reno will be greatly missed by family, friends, and the community of Yerington.  Reno will be remembered for his kindness, work ethic, generosity, and his commitment to family.

Reno was survived by his son and three daughters.  James Aiazzi (Anna), Julia Stanton (Kirk), Connie Fortier (Kevin), and Faye Fleury (Larry).  Reno (Papa Gus) was an amazing grandfather to 11 grandchildren who loved and adored their papa, they are Cole and Dakota Aiazzi, Brooke Aiazzi Miller,  Jessica Acosta, Monte and Sophia Stanton, Lindsay, Ryan and Adam Fortier, Joshua and Aaron Fleury.  Reno had two great-granddaughters who adored him as well, Ariah and Emiliana Fleury.    He is proceeded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Adena, Gino, Lina, Angelo, Leno, Roy, Ray, Pete and Ruth.

In honor of Reno’s wishes, no services will be held.
