On July 27,2026, Dennis L. Scott, age 80, of Yerington, Nevada, was called home to be with the Lord. Dennis passed away following a tragic accident during his 25 mile daily bicycle ride, sustaining severe head trauma. He died doing something he loved – cycling.
After taking an early retirement from Pacific Bell in the Bay Area, Dennis and Cathleen, his wife of 44 years moved to Incline Village, Nevada where he enjoyed rowing on Lake Tahoe every day. After 13 years in Incline, they moved to Yerington, Nevada. For the past 21 years, he and his wife have enjoyed life on their farm full of goats, chickens, miniature donkeys and their German shepherds. Dennis will be remembered as a kind, caring and loving man whose greatest joy was his family. His warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dennis is survived by his sister Ann C. Jenkins of Seattle Washington and her husband John, his niece Christi Hattan and her husband Bryan, his niece Wendy Gaxiola and his sister-in-law Laurie Scott. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Larry E. Scott of Goodyear, Arizona, who passed away in 2021. Dennis is survived by his devoted wife Cathleen Scott, his stepdaughter Cassandre Pozas and her husband Bryant, his stepson Zach Fox (who passed away 2 days after Dennis) and his wife Angie, his grandchildren Elli Sanger and her husband Jordan, Jake Fox and Taylor, his step grandchildren Katala and her fiance Jackson, and Jalen Rhodes, his great grandson Luke and great granddaughter Shea (to be born in December). Brother-in-laws Glenn LaFrank and his wife Patrice, Rob LaFrank. His nieces Gabrielle and her husband Carlos and niece Jessica and her partner.
