Bernita Simpson, YHS Class of ’73 Passes Away

Bernita Louise Simpson

October 13, 1954 – June 29, 2021

Heaven has gained the most beautiful angel. Bernita Louise Simpson, 66, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, auntie and friend, went to be with the Lord on June 29, 2021.

Bernita was born October 13, 1954 to Imogene (Rhoan) Tom and Delbert Simpson in Schurz, NV.

She is preceded in death by her father Delbert Simpson, step-father Stanley Tom Sr.; Brothers Myron Simpson, Edwin Tom and Stanley Tom Jr; Sister Susan Tom and Daughter Roanna Booth.

She is survived by her mother, Imogene Tom, sisters Marilyn Bitisillie & Kathleen Simpson, brothers Gary Tom Sr., Alvin Tom, Don Tom, & David Tom, daughters Stephanie Simpson, Carolee Simpson, Leslie Booth, Gracie Booth, Loni Booth, Christian Booth, & Trinity Simpson, son Paul Simpson, 10 grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Walton’s Funeral Home in Carson City, NV. Viewing will begin at 10 am with service to follow from 11am-2pm. A reception will follow at the Stewart Community building on Clear Creek Avenue.
COVID precautions are in effect. Social distancing and masks are requested. The family asks that if you are not feeling well, please do not attend.
