The Honorable Judge John Schlegelmilch was the Master of Ceremonies during the family games hosted by the Lions Club.
Here is Judge Schlegelmilch encouraging the final contestant in the 3 to 5 year olds’ sack race to “reach the finish line”! 1st place winners in each category received “2 golden dollars” and 2nd place winners received “1 golden dollar”. In the above photo, this last contestant won a golden dollar for crossing as the crowd cheered.
Even grown-up kids got to participate!
Vendors were providing lemonade, specialty coffees, ice cream, shaved ice, mini footballs, flags and more.
The Lion’s Club family games also included a 3 legged race, watermelon eating contest, frisbee toss, and more.
At the conclusion of the morning family games, the Yerington Chamber of Commerce is scheduled to host “Games in the Park” beginning with a Horseshoe tournament beginning at 1:30pm with prize $$ for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in singles and doubles categories.
