May 1st, 2022: Billed as “a magical day” and “enchanted afternoon,” the Unicorns & Rainbows High Tea delivered all that and more to a completely filled Studio 14 in Weed Heights, Nevada.
Through A Child’s Eyes Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2007 by “Cathe Faretto and a Board of Dedicated Volunteers to bring professional staged performances to the Yerington Community such as The Nutcracker Ballet, High Tea Parties, as well as sponsoring local dance instructors and their studio of students by establishing The Studio Academy of Dance and Music.” https://www.childseyes.org/studio-info
The Studio Academy of Dance and Music began with Studio 14 in Weed Heights then added Studio 42 in Yerington.
Board of Directors Trustee Nancy Pursel said that the High Tea was planned 2 and 1/2 years ago, but a pandemic delayed it. Nancy reported that at last count there were over 160 dance class students ranging in age from 3 years to 80 years of age. “Thanks to you and your support, many of our children are on scholarship. When we have our dance recitals and Winter Wonderland, we provide the costumes for everybody. So we really feel very blessed to be in a community that shows us so much support. And we truly, truly do appreciate it. We have an amazing board that works well; we have community volunteers who are willing to come and spend time with us…”
Nancy continued, “Tea sandwiches and chocolate-dipped strawberries are from Blanhir’s Bakery & Cafe; the scones are from Just Scones on facebook;Â we have a spinach/mushroom quiche, tossed green salad, and all the sweets from Tailgaters, our local family restaurant. We think you will enjoy it all! Thank you again for coming…And, let the tea begin!”
