YERINGTON, NV – The Yerington City Council, during its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, October 26, 2026, voted to appoint Nathan Bake to fill the vacant seat on the City Council.
The vacancy was created following the resignation of Council-member Shane Martin, who was required to resign after relocating outside the city limits of Yerington.
Under the provisions of the Yerington City Charter, the City Council is required to appoint a replacement within 30 days of a vacancy occurring. In accordance with this requirement, the City Council moved forward with the appointment process to ensure continued representation and uninterrupted city business.
Bake’s appointment became effective immediately and will continue through January 4, 2027, when newly elected officials from the upcoming General Election are scheduled to take office.
Bake is also a candidate for Yerington City Council in the November 2026 General Election. His appointment allows him to serve the community in the interim while voters determine the composition of the next City Council.
The City of Yerington welcomes Council-member Bake and looks forward to his participation in serving the residents of Yerington.
