YERINGTON, NV— Community impact took center stage in late August as the Rotary Club of Yerington hosted visiting leadership from Rotary District 5190. District Governor Kurt Raffetto and Area 10 Assistant Governor Suzanne Prouty joined local Rotarians to celebrate the club’s ongoing service initiatives and honor several outstanding members for their exceptional dedication.
During the special presentation, individual awards were handed out to two key figures in the local chapter:
Willie Skroch received the Quiet Rotarian Award, recognizing steadfast, behind-the-scenes service that keeps the club’s community efforts moving forward without seeking the spotlight.

Anthony Masini was honored with the Fly-High Award, celebrating outstanding leadership, energy, and going above and beyond to elevate the club’s local projects.

Another highlight of the night was an extraordinary milestone for the Yerington chapter: the presentation of six Paul Harris Fellow Awards in a single evening.
Earning a single Paul Harris Fellow recognition is a significant achievement in the Rotary world; presenting six at once in a single club is unheard of. This year’s prestigious recipients included Willie Skroch, Ted Rudolph, Mary Snyder, Joni Zirhut, Oscar Hernandez, and Nora Stevens.
What is a Paul Harris Fellow Award?
Named after Rotary’s founder, the Paul Harris Fellow Award is one of the highest honors in Rotary International. It recognizes individuals who have contributed—or had contributions made in their name—of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation.
These funds directly support global and local humanitarian projects, ranging from clean water initiatives and polio eradication to local scholarships and disaster relief. Receiving the award signifies an extraordinary personal commitment to the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”
