Healthy Communities Coalition meets Thursday June 11

Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties’ next public meeting takes place Thursday, June 11, 2026 at the Silver Springs Community Center at 2945 Fort Churchill Street, Silver Springs, Nevada 89429 from 9am to 11:00am.

The nonprofit’s June meeting includes presentations on two different topics by guest speakers.

Tammi Kiersch of Nevada’s Rural Regional Centers will give an overview of the variety of supports available to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in frontier communities.

Tyler Donaldson, Rights Advocate with the Nevada Disability Advocacy & Law Center, will give an overview of NDALC, a statewide, non-profit organization that serves as Nevada’s federally-mandated protection and advocacy system for human, legal, and service rights for individuals with disabilities.

In addition to breakfast and guest presentations, the Coalition’s bi-monthly meetings include updates and announcements from Coalition staff, volunteers and community partners.

Healthy Communities is comprised of local, state, federal and tribal group partners, community volunteers, and a board of directors and staff all working together on a common goal to strengthen communities in the Lyon and Storey regions. The Coalition strives to promote and support sustainable, inclusive prevention services, community initiatives, and capacity building systems that address all components of a healthy community.
