Pizen Switch Times

established 2021

Lyon County NV – May 15, 2026

Over the next two days, National Police Week comes to a close, starting with the 45th Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service. Please take time to reflect on the meaning behind the badge and the responsibility carried by the men and women of law enforcement every single day. Our Deputies and Police officers across this country answer the call to service at all hours and put themselves in harm’s way to protect our community. Their service requires courage, sacrifice, integrity, and a commitment to something greater than themselves.

National Police Week is not only about recognizing the work law enforcement does today, but also about remembering those who gave their lives in the line of duty. Across our Country, families, friends, coworkers, and communities gather to honor the fallen heroes whose sacrifice will never be forgotten. Behind every name etched into memorial walls is a story of service, dedication, and love for community.

To the deputies, officers, dispatchers, correctional officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and all first responders who continue to serve with professionalism and dedication, thank you. Your willingness to serve during difficult times does not go unnoticed. Our communities are stronger because of your commitment and sacrifice.

As Police Week concludes with the National Memorial Service, we stand united in honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice. The memorial service is a solemn and powerful reminder of the sacrifices made every day. We remember the fallen, support the survivors, and recommit ourselves to ensuring they are never forgotten.

Respectfully,

Sheriff Brad Pope
