Yerington NV – February 12, 2026
Mark Brenden Forsstrom died suddenly at his home in Yerington, Nevada on February 8, 2026. He was 69.
Mark is survived by his two beloved sisters, Teresa (Terry) Hess of Litchfield, Minnesota and Lesley-Ann O’Hara of Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. He was predeceased by both parents and his nephew Steven and “Baby Cat”. He is survived by his niece Deanna & nephews Scott & Eric.

Mark was born in Berkeley, California but moved to Canada when quite young and resided there until joining the United States Army at 18. He served in radio ops in Germany. After being honorably discharged he returned to Canada where he continued to work in the field of computers.
Mark was exceptionally brilliant when it came to building, programming and understanding electronics and computers. This hunger for knowledge connected him with the pioneers of his time at various Universities in North America. He was well aware of A.I. long before it became a household term.
Mark eventually moved to Yerington, Nevada where he worked in the computer room of the Boys and Girls Club helping young minds explore the same world that he loved so much. Mark worked and became a part of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Mason Valley for almost 20 years and he was loved by all the staff and the children he guided. He was known as the “Gentle Giant”. Mark will also be remembered as an avid Winnipeg Jets hockey fan. If he had his way he would sleep in his Jets jersey. Mark made many friends in Yerington and this was his home.
