Yerington had already won 16 in a row and they went ahead and made it 17 on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Battle Mountain Longhorns with a sharp 3-0 victory. That’s the second time they’ve managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.
The 3-0 score doesn’t show just how dominant Yerington was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-6, 25-6.
Yerington’s win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Battle Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-10.
We’ve got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Yerington will challenge rival North Tahoe at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Battle Mountain is set to take on their familiar foe Pershing County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
