Yeringtonite Delmar Stevens attends Nat’l Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition

In late August 2025, Yerington Paiute Tribal member Delmar Stevens joined with this coalition for the important work they are doing to gather stories of Indian boarding school survivors.

We are deeply grateful to our boarding school relatives who joined us in Portland, Oregon for the fourteenth stop of our oral history project. At the heart of this project is a commitment to honoring, supporting, and creating nurturing spaces for those who have bravely shared their stories and experiences with us.

“Being able to be in community in such a meaningful way for this project brings a warm light to my life. I feel overwhelmed with gratitude knowing I’m able to contribute to this important work and help provide a safe space for survivors wherever we go,” shared Jo Troxell, oral history project coordinator.
