May 10, 2025 NAMI Western Nevada (Nat’l Alliance on Mental Health) is proud to announce Deputy Zachary Westbrook with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office as their CIT (Critical Incident Team) Officer of the Year!
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office nominated Deputy Westbrook for his exceptional dedication as the Behavioral Health Peace Officer and member of the Lyon County Mobile Outreach Safety Team (MOST). In 2024 alone, Deputy Westbrook personally responded to 835 calls for service involving individuals in need of mental health support and crisis intervention.
Beyond the call of duty, Deputy Westbrook has been a true advocate for mental health, actively participating in community outreach events and promoting mental health awareness across Lyon County. His commitment to de-escalation, crisis intervention, and compassionate service embodies the very spirit of CIT.
