Sunday Races, Pro and Stock Pro UTVs, Buggies and Trucks…
There was a bit more excitement around the Pro Pit Sunday. There were a number of non VORRA wrong-way drivers on the track North of Pro Pit. A number of VORRA vehicles passed the Pit at well over 70 mph, so the prospects of meeting a wrong way driver on the track increased the danger both to drivers and people who ignored the fact that some roads were closed to non race vehicles.
We were treated to mild wind, Saturday and Sunday morning, but Sunday afternoon, the wind shifted from the East to North. Vehicles on the Southbound leg of the loop were followed by dense dust clouds. Because of dense dust, several Southbound drivers almost missed the turn on to Julian Road, and took a short drive through the sage brush.
