Come Paint Among the Flowers in Dayton, Nevada: July 11, 2026!

Paint your own canvas this Saturday in a scenic outdoor setting. Dayton artist Kristan Wood, a Navy veteran with a bachelors degree in art education, is offering a painting class among the colorful flowers at Community Roots & Shoots nonprofit nursery.

Instructor Kristan Wood has illustrated children’s books, produced her own tourism magazine, and designed billboards.

Her plein air painting class (French for ‘”painting in the open air”) takes place Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 11am to noon. A $10 class fee will include instruction, canvas, use of painting implements, lemonade and baked treats. The class fee can be given at Community Roots on the day of the class.

Please bring a fold out chair, blanket or cushion to sit on.

Community Roots is located at 209 Dayton Valley Road, Dayton, NV 89403. The nursery offers trees, shrubs, perennials, vegetable starts, annuals, soil amendments, bird feeders and more.
