From Northern Nevada Business Weekly: Yerington copper mine, Lyon County’s largest underground site, to reopen

The future of the Pumpkin Hollow Copper Mine may be taking shape once again. Nearly two years after the mine shut down following Nevada Copper’s bankruptcy, new owner Kinterra Capital and its subsidiary, Southwest Critical Minerals, are moving forward with plans to restart underground operations near Yerington. With hundreds of millions of dollars in financing, extensive existing infrastructure, and plans to eventually develop a large open-pit mine, the project could bring jobs, investment, and renewed mining activity back to southern Lyon County.
