Yerington NV- May 28, 2028

Community leaders, healthcare partners, and residents gathered in Yerington on May 28 to celebrate a major milestone for rural healthcare as South Lyon Medical Center officially broke ground on its new Primary Care Clinic.

The ceremony marked the beginning of construction on a modern, permanent healthcare facility designed to replace the hospital’s aging modular clinic, which has served the community for more than 25 years. Located on the South Lyon Medical Center campus, the new 8,000-square-foot clinic will expand access to quality healthcare services for residents throughout Lyon County and surrounding rural communities.

The facility will include 12 exam rooms, two treatment rooms, and updated spaces designed to improve patient care, workflow, and overall access to medical services close to home.

Hospital Administrator Toni Inserra welcomed guests and recognized the many partners who helped make the project possible, including the William N. Pennington Foundation, USDA Rural Development, Zions Bank, South Lyon County Hospital District, South Lyon Health Center, Inc., Battle Born Medevac, CTA Design Team, and Miles Construction.

The program also featured remarks from healthcare leaders, community partners, and elected officials who emphasized the importance of strengthening rural healthcare infrastructure and ensuring long-term access to care in Northern Nevada.

This video highlights moments from the groundbreaking ceremony, community presentations, and the shared vision for the future of healthcare in Yerington.
