Obituary for James “Jim” Mikudik: June 27, 1949 to August 17, 2024

James (Jim) F. Mikudik passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at his home in Yerington.  He was 75.

Jim was born in Rapid City, South Dakota on June 27, 1949 the son of William and Florence Mikudik.

Jim graduated from the University of Wyoming in Larmie with a degree in Pharmacy.  He later moved to Yerington, Nevada where he implemented a pharmacy at South Lyon Medical Center.  He met the love of his life, Judy Louise Dane and they married November 3, 1978 and built their life together and raised their daughter in Yerington.  Jim later became a deputy for the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office for which he proudly served his community for years, and eventually became Undersheriff.  While serving the citizens as Undersheriff he attended and graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.  He also enjoyed being a volunteer firefighter, the President of his local NRA chapter and had a love for trap shooting.

Jim is survived by his wife, Judy of Yerington; his daughter, Kerri Hamlett of Davenport, Oklahoma; his granddaughter Tori Hart and her spouse, Elijah of Kendrick, Oklahoma; his grandsons, Tres Hamlett of Davenport. OK, Thomas Hamlett of Stillwater, OK and great grandsons, Weston and Easton Hart.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim lived an amazing life.  He will forever be loved and missed by his family and friends.
