Lyon County Sheriff’s Office – Nevada: Message of the Week 07/19/2024
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is committed to improving the already good relationship between the communities we serve and our Sheriff’s Office. You would be hard pressed to find a community event that the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is not involved with in some shape or manner. Improving the relationship between our communities and the Sheriff’s Office was a departmental goal established in January of 2023, with the change of administrations.
The Sheriff’s Office thought process is that a strong relationship of mutual respect between the Sheriff’s Office and the communities we serve is crucial to maintaining safety and effective law enforcement. As the Sheriff’s Office, we rely on the cooperation of community members to provide information about crime in neighborhoods, and to work with us to figure out solutions to solve crime problems. We strive to build community members’ trust, that the Sheriff’s Office actions reflect community values, and are in the community’s best interest.
National Night Out gives the Sheriff’s Office a possibility to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement and bring back a true sense of community. National Night Out allows the community to see law enforcement in a positive light and is a great opportunity for the youth of the community to build on a positive relationship with your Sheriff’s Office. Families will have the opportunity to see our patrol vehicles, SWAT Vehicle, medical helicopters, our K9 units, Dispatch personnel, drones and our uniformed personnel. Other first responder units are anticipated to be at the National Night Out as well.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has a lot of “SWAG” to give away, and we stock up specifically for this great event!
As always, the National Night Out is a free event. This year’s National Night Out is Tuesday, August 6th beginning at 4:00PM and ending at 8:00PM. The Out of Town Park in Fernley will host the event as they have in years past. We are looking forward to seeing as many of you out there as possible!
