Thomas “Tom” Harvey Ward ~ July 26, 1943 to January 4, 2024 ~ “Lovingly Remembered”

It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas (Tom) Harvey Ward announce his passing on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the youthful age of eighty.

Tom was born on July 26,1943, in Winnemucca Nevada to Leroy and Violet (English) Ward. Tom was extremely proud of being a Native Nevadan and bragged to all who would lend an ear.

Tom graduated from Yerington High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Tom later met and married the love of his life, Joyce (Casey) in 1969 and they homesteaded in Yerington Nevada.

Tom will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joyce, brother Jerry (Leslye), daughters Annette (and family), Terri (Hercules) Ward, and Amanda (Jim) Ward. Tom will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren and great grandchildren Joseph (Amanda) Cirone, Cazzy, Addison, Lance, and Ellie, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, brother-in-law Roy Casey and sister-in-law Chris Casey.

Tom’s legacy is his profound and undeniable loyalty to his family. Tom made it his goal every day to provide for, love and care for those around him. Tom’s family is incredibly grateful for the beautiful life he created for them.

Tom bestowed his love, passion, and knowledge of hunting, fishing, and everything outdoors to all he encountered, especially his family. The legend of “Tom Ward” will carry through to the future generations of hunters.

In accordance with Tom’s wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make donations in memory of Tom, to the Yerington VFW, Post 8084, P.O. Box 1147, Yerington, NV 89447.
