The following story is brought to you by the Yerington/Mason Valley Fire Protection District, Lyon County Sheriff’s Office & Jail, Yerington Police Department, City of Yerington and various businesses (un)fortunate enough to have the uninvited-Grinch at their venue:
The whole thing started early Wednesday morning when the Sheriff’s Office issued the following notice for “Warrant Wednesday”…
12.20.2023 From Lyon County Sheriff’s Office-Nevada
The first sighting report came in from the Yerington/Mason Valley Fire Protection District:
“The Grinch is loose in Yerington! Here are some photos of the suspect who was seen stealing Christmas at Mason Valley Fire this morning. Who can say where the Grinch will show up next?“
THEN, there were “Reports that the suspect had been seen at the gym…”
Before anyone knew it there was an UPDATE: “Now the Grinch is at Raleys.”
The Grinch was “seen mocking local Law Enforcement on Main Street. On Warrant Wednesday of all days.” And skulking around at Wells Fargo, then Mason Valley Physical Therapy!
“The Grinch had been seen at the City of Yerington checking out the Christmas decorations and teaming up with Nala the City of Yerington attack kitty. Be careful Grinch, she is not very friendly.”
“Sticks and Stones and Peri & Sons were the latest victims.” Leading law-abiding citizens to wonder, “When will this rampage end???”
The Fire Department kept tracking the villain, and reported: “It is madness in Yerington today as the Grinch moves through town. El Alteno, Tailgaters and Coffee Slingers were all visited. The Grinch even got spruced up a bit at CC’s Salon!”
The Grinch continued to cause trouble when he stopped in at Maverik for an Adventure…
“Then he slithered and slunk, with a smile most unpleasant; Around the whole room , and he took every present!” Dr. Seuss
It was all over for the Grinch in Yerington this year…thanks to Yerington Police Department for stopping this crime spree and to Lyon County Jail for providing the Villainous Grinch a warm bed for Christmas!
“He HADN’T stopped Christmas from coming! IT CAME! Somehow or other, it came just the same!” ~ Dr. Seuss
