Netti Cooke DeBusk, Pamela Hunewill & Karen DeBusk hosted the 3rd Annual Witch Paddle and Kayak on a very chilly morning across the smooth surface of Topaz Lake.
This annual tradition began in 2022 to celebrate ringing in the spooky Halloween season. Spectators get to view silhouetted figures dressed in pointy hats and capes as they paddle board or kayak, laughter & comraderie abounding.
The next event will be a Santa paddle in December.
This was the invitation/announcement to the public:
3rd Annual Witch Costume Paddle
Topaz Resort – South on 395 last driveway after the inspection station.
9:45 a.m. meet and greet! Decorate and, if needed, blow up your paddles!
10:00 a.m. GROUP PHOTO! Then launch and paddle
Everyone of all ages invited to participate. Bring your friends and family.
Bring your board or kayak and wear a witch costume even if it’s basic!
Make sure to abide by local laws and have life jackets present and on children.
