From Yerington/Mason Valley Fire Protection District: Here are, “Photos from a structure fire in Mason Nevada today. Minor injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nevada State Fire Marshalls Office. We were assisted by Smith Valley Fire Protection District – NV who sent an engine and medic unit. NV Energy responded to disconnect the power to the structure.”
“Our friends from Smith Valley Fire Protection District – NV responded to assist us on this fire and sent an ambulance and engine. NV Energy responded and disconnected power to the house while initial attack was underway. The floor inside the structure started to fail, and the incident commander pulled out the interior attack teams. At this point we converted from offensive to defensive operations, fighting the fire from outside only.”
“One family was displaced, and the American Red Cross of Nevada was called to assist with accommodations for the displaced occupants.”

Update: On August 21, 2023 Lisa Corona wrote: Del and Cheryl Sanderson’s house just burnt down in a house fire yesterday 8/21 they’ve unfortunately lost everything If anyone is willing to donate any clothes or dog stuff that may help them please message me (on Facebook). Cheryl is a extra small in tops and a size 2 in pants also a size 7.5-8 in women’s shoes. Del is a size 36 in pants and a size extra large in tops and size 10 in men’s shoes. Anything your willing to donate would be very much appreciated.
