Mason Valley, Nevada ~ On Sunday, July 17, 2023 at 11:30am volunteer firefighters, EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians) and auxiliary members responded to a small brush fire on Highway 339 just south of Nordyke.
EMTs were on standby per protocol for any potential medical emergencies such as smoke inhalation, heat stroke, etc. Auxiliary members assured that the firefighters stayed well-hydrated while dousing the brush fire as they worked in 104 degree temperatures.
For the safety of those working on the brush fire, Highway 339 was closed for a short time until the firefighters contained the fire from spreading.
