UPDATE*** Tuesday, February 14, 2023
Fernley, Nevada ~ At a Status Conference before the Justice of the Peace in the Canal Township Justice Court, attorneys for Defendant Troy Driver delivered an “UNCONDITIONAL WAIVER OF PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION” signed by the Defendant who was present by video conferencing from the Lyon County Justice Center in Yerington.
The next hearing is scheduled for February 27, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the Third Judicial District Court in Yerington.
Fernley, Nevada ~ On February 9th, 2023, the Canal Township Justice Court informed the public through a press release that Troy Driver plans to waive the Preliminary Hearing scheduled for February 16 & 17. A STATUS CONFERENCE is now scheduled for February 14th at 1:30pm. at which time it may be anticipated that, through appearance on video/Zoom, Troy Driver may officially waive the Preliminary Hearing as he and his attorneys have a Status Conference with the Justice of the Peace and the Lyon County District Attorney.
Generally at a Preliminary Hearing, the District Attorney will present the cumulative evidence in a case so that attorneys for a defendant can view all the evidence. If the Preliminary Hearing is waived by a defendant, the Justice of the Peace may then transfer the case to the District-level Court.
