Lyon County, Nevada : (Un)official election results for General Election 2022

11/19/2022 ***UPDATE***  Still waiting for the Official Lyon County 2022 General Election Results to be posted on  https://www.lyon-county.org/801/Elections

11/15/2022 ~ The General Election day, Tuesday November 8, 2022 was one week ago. Mailed in ballots had to be post-marked BY 11/08/2022 and had to be received by the county registrar’s office BY 11/14/2022.   These votes have to be counted and reported BY 11/18/2022.

Election results are UNOFFICIAL until the County Commissioners Canvass. Even when results of elections report that  100% of the precincts have voted, the results are unofficial until the County Commissioners Canvass.

According to eac.gov, “The canvass is a culmination of all the data generated during an election cycle. More importantly, it is a process that allows election officials to confirm the accuracy of election data and identify areas for improvement. The canvass process aggregates and confirms every valid ballot cast and counted, including mail, uniformed and overseas citizen, early voting, Election Day, and provisional ballots. ”

The Lyon County Board of Commissioners meets on Thursday November 17th.  At that meeting, the commissioners are expected to certify the election results.

Again, per eac.gov, “Election certification refers to the process of election officials attesting that the tabulation and canvassing of the election are complete and accurate and that the election results are a true and accurate accounting of all votes cast in a particular election. ”
