After graduating High School, George joined the Navy in 1953. He served four years as an Aviation Structural Mechanic. George married his wife, Linda on August 17, 1974. Together they raised three children, Adam, Anne, and Ben. They remained married for 47 years.He worked many years with his dad and brother Richard in the family business, Johnson Heating, in Sparta, Wisconsin. In 1993 George moved his family to Yerington, Nevada where he continued working in the heating and sheet metal business. Over the years, George became a master sheet-metalist.George’s favorite pastimes were putting together jigsaw puzzles, fishing, camping, traveling, watching old western movies, and walking his dog, Kiana. George loved his family and being surrounded by them.
A private family memorial service was held for George on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at the Copper Hills Bible Church in Yerington, Nevada. Many good memories were shared by family who attended. Thank you to Pastor Cary Dyer and his wife Carolyn for leading the memorial service.
