September 18, 1941 – July 12, 2021

Don Allan Neufield passed unexpectedy on Monday, July 12, 2021 at his home in Yerington.  He was 79.

Don was born in Bakersfield, CA on September 18, 1941 the son Wayman and Ruth Neufield.

After graduating from Bakersfield High School he joined the US Navy where he received his electrician training and later attended Porterville College.  He also received his Pilots license.  He lived in Poterville for a short time where he owned and operated a service station and beauty salon.  Don worked as an Electrician for TIC where he was a supervisor for many years.

He had three children from a prior marriage, Nikole Neufield, Shad Neufield and Rusty Neufield, he was a step father to Lynn’s three children, Sean Roe, Cynthia Kelley and Renee Saunders and grandfather to Nikole’s son Kobi and Rusty’s new baby girl, Zailiana and Lynn’s 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Wayne and step-children, Sean and Cynthia.

Don married Lynn in 1987 in Bakersfield where they raised his children.  In 1995 they moved to Big Pine, CA and then in 2017 to Yerington to be closer to Doctors and also their long time friends Bill and Sherry Keith.  Don owned and operated his trucking company for a time until he was diagnosed with advanced prostrate cancer and given six months to live.  God healed him and gave him another 16 years.  During that time he had over 20 surgeries and with the last one two years ago he lost his leg which he never got over.

Don did it all from Flying, Ranching, camping, fishing, hunting, playing guitar, black powder, rode horses and his mule, Clyde.  He loved riding his Harley motorcycle with his wife, Lynn.  He loved cast iron cooking and especially outdoor cooking where he fixed many meals for family and friends.  He had a garden in Big Pine and Yerington which he was very proud of.  there was not anything he didn’t do and loved new projects.  Don loved his country.  He attended the Mason Valley Assembly of God where he taught Sunday school and was on their Board.

Don’s graveside service with military honors will be held 2:00 pm Friday, July 30, 2021 at the Bakersfield National Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to sign his online guest book at www.FRFH.net
