Principal Rich Fortier joins Yerington Elementary School

Yerington Elementary School announced: Please join us in welcoming Mr. Rich Fortier, our new principal at Yerington Elementary School!

On Monday, August 10th, Principal Fortier attended the scheduled Yerington City Council meeting to introduce himself to the community. The YHS principal and YIS assistant principal were also present.

Mr. Fortier moved to Yerington from Wisconsin, where he taught for 18 years and was most recently the principal at Arbor Vitae-Woodruff Elementary School for 16 years. Mr. Fortier and his wife have five grown children. They have purchased a home in Yerington, and he is busy settling in before school starts.

Mr. Fortier brings tremendous energy and enthusiasm for his new job at Y.E.S. and is excited to be a part of the Yerington community. He is serious about keeping our students safe, and helping to provide an environment in which our students will thrive. Make sure to say hello and welcome him to our community when you see him around. He will be at our Meet and Greet on campus, Tuesday, August 18th from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
