“For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.” (1 Corinthians 5:1).
Teddy “Ted” Hayes was called home to the Lord on Sunday, March 15th, 2026, succumbing to complications of pneumonia. Ted was a kind, loving, and thoughtful man devoted to his faith, the love of his life, Cheryl, and his family.

He honorably served in the Navy where he received training in main propulsion auxiliary machinery maintenance and repair serving as Machinist Mate Class A. After serving in the Navy, Ted accepted his dream job at the Anaconda Mine in Yerington working on Triple 7″s. He absolutely loved working on these huge pieces of equipment! Ted also was a railroad inspector at Hawthorne Army Depot for a short period.
His favorite past times were word searches, spending time with friends and family, and “Driving Ms. Cheryl” around town and to her appointments and shopping excursions. The guiding light in Ted’s life was his faith in the Lord. Even through his difficult health struggles he found comfort and peace in his relationship with God.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, April 25th, 2026, 10:00 a.m. at Gospel Light Church, 2705 Schurz Highway, Fallon, Nevada. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gospel Light Baptist Church in Fallon, Nevada.
