Yerington NV – November 22,2025
Local vocalist, Cheryl Giomi together with local musicians Denise Aiazzi and Katrina Frizzell join guest concert pianist Devon Shifflet for an evening of classical music at Through A Child’s Eyes Foundation’s second annual Classical Elegance event scheduled for Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at historic Lyon County Museum, 215 South Main Street in Yerington.
Classical Elegance was created by Through a Child’s Eyes Foundation to bring the magic of the stage for our local musicians by providing unique concert venues and opportunities for our performers and community. This year’s event welcomes the following musicians:
Cheryl Giomi, vocalist, was inspired by her high school choir experience to study voice in college. Cheryl studies voice locally and finds joy and peace when singing. She is excited to perform two classic holiday pieces: O Holy Night and Ave Maria.

Katrina Frizzell started playing flute in her elementary band program. Her passion for playing carried her through her school years. She worked, studied, and performed at Sabado School of Music where she played in small classical and jazz productions. In addition to flute, she plays piccolo, and has learned the alto saxophone, piano, and bass. Her love is flute, however. Katrina will be performing a flute medley from The Nutcracker.

Denise Aiazzi, well known for her piano playing is also a concert violinist. Denise has played violin since childhood, and was self taught until studying violin and piano at college. She has played with the Reno Pops Orchestra, Carson City Symphony, Carson Valley Pops and University Orchestra. Denise will serenade the audience with classical violin pieces accompanied by Devon Shifflett.

Devon Shifflett is a graduate teaching assistant at University of North Carolina at Greensboro where he is pursuing a Masters of Music in Piano Pedagogy. Devon has an extensive performance history and is excited to perform for this event while coming home for the holidays.

Classical Elegance, A formal Evening of Classical Music is free to the public, but donations are gratefully accepted. Proceeds from this event will support Through A Child’s Eye’s Foundation’s mission of bringing the magic of the stage to children of all ages through dance, music, the performing arts, as well as being a part of the audience! In addition, proceeds will support Historic Lyon County Museum, preserving our history and the treasures that tell our story.
