Meet our Queen for the 2025 Yerington Portuguese Festa: Mari Basaca Fuentes!
Mari is a 15-year-old Mexican American, and she likes to stay busy, whether it is in sports, academically, or in her community. Her main goal is to make sure that everyone in the world has a voice. No matter the age or ethnicity. Reciting poems gives this opportunity to everyone. So, as she recites poems, she hopes that other kids also realize that reciting poems gives you the opportunity to speak your mind and your heart.
Mari is a freshman at Yerington High School and has participated in the Festa for the past two years. She is the daughter of Consuelo Fuentes and Francisco Basaca. Her sisters, Mariana and Sophia Kling will serve as her side maids.
Join us as we celebrate our faith, family and tradition at the Yerington Portuguese Festa on June 1, 2025.
