Message of the Week 06/02/2023
Intelligence-led policing employs the latest technology to collect and analyze data, providing the Sheriff’s Office with valuable intelligence. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has begun utilizing our data bases to guide decisions on best practices to make our community safer. These data bases have been in place within the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office for several years, but never utilized. One part of that database includes our response times, which I have been sharing. Another part of that database tracks criminal activity, and reported crime within Lyon County.
The attached document (Response Times January – May) shows the average response times throughout 2023 and the year-end average from 2022. The response times show the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office becoming more efficient in responding to calls for service, with our response time decreasing significantly, and maintaining a low average. Our Deputies are making a conscious effort to respond in a safe, but quick and professional manner.
– Warrant Arrests are by 35
Why is this data significant? I have stated on several occasions that our Deputies are working harder than ever before! The Deputies of the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office have ramped up their proactive activities and we are seeing the results, not only in the collected data, but in our communities as well.
I want to congratulate the graduating class of 2023! As a graduate you are about to enter a vast world full of opportunity, all you have to do is seize it, nobody will do it for you. Be responsible as you celebrate your accomplishments.
Sheriff Brad Pope
