Carving Tradition: Clapper Stick Workshop Shares Numu Culture and History

The Walker River Tribal Library hosted a Clapper Stick workshop cultural facilitated by Josh Dini Sr., Numu Dini, founder of the Prayer Horse Ride.

Participants received their own elderberry wood piece to carve, sand, and split into their very own clapper stick.

They also learned the history of the clapper stick and its origin. Thank you to Josh Dini and Steven Frank for sharing their stories, and thank you to our participants who signed up!
